You might know me as a mandolin player who toured with Special Consensus for a few years.
That band has been nominated for two GRAMMYs, but neither of which while I was in the band, so make of that what you will. I've also been in other regional traditional bluegrass bands over the years, in places like my home state of Kentucky and my adopted home states of North Dakota and Minnesota. I always had a lot of fun and enjoyed being a sideman in a band. Early in 2024 I released the first project that had my name on it, “The Peerless Mountain Sessions,” an album of fiddle tunes featuring a trio of mandolin, banjo, and bass. The project was a lot of fun to make, since we recorded it live in one day. It did a whole lot better than I thought it would, which tickled me lots. I loved that experience so much that I ended up going back in the studio and recording a bunch of original songs, releasing a full album of them in October of 2024 on Common Loon Records. It's called “Something He Can Handle,” and I'm real proud of it and excited to share it with folks.
