Multi-instrumentalist Dan Eubanks is the current upright bassist (since 2013) of the internationally recording and heavily touring bluegrass band and Compass recording artists Special Consensus out of Chicago. The band is known as a perennial favorite amongst bluegrass fans of all tastes and has been twice Grammy nominated for Best Bluegrass Album, once during Dan’s tenure, and in his time in the band has been awarded with seven trophies in various categories including Album of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association.

Dan has a Master’s degree in Jazz Studies, and spent many years serving as an adjunct instructor at several colleges and universities in the St. Louis area before moving to Nashville TN in 2004. In the past 10 years he has taught bass at the Joe Val Bluegrass Festival, Walker Creek Music Camp, Camp Nimble Fingers, and Midwest Banjo camp as well as his current adjunct professor duties in the music departments of East Tennessee State University (online only) and live at University of Missouri St. Louis, in the St. Louis Mo. area where he currently resides
