Once again I had the honor of playing with some of the most talented pickers and singers in the world and didn't have to leave home to do it. These great artists graced our stage in the summer of 2003 at a music Kamp that is like none other in the world. It is a Kamp built on learning, friendships and trust. The students learn from the most talented team of instructors and it seems the instructors learn from the cream of the crop of student body. Friendships develop over the years and the Kamp seems to be a reunion of hearts and souls as much as one of the world's most educational summer camp music study program. A trust forms from our Kampers through the touch of our staff.

Donna Dixon is the Kamp Den Mother and takes care of more details than you can imagine from medical situations to lost keys to you name it. JoEllen is our right hand lady and handles everything from check in to tear down. She is also the voice of the Flatpik Office. Mark Neumann and Jimmy Davis head up our concert staff help and make sure the set-up, teardown and concerts run smoothly. Other helpers are Sarah Pirkle, Jessica, Liz and Charlie to name a few. Hiwassee Ridge handles our live sound and Baker Vaughn records our CD sound. Special thanks to Dianne Rostollian for her organizing the Kamp Kompanions and leading them on the main stage. She is a friend to Donna and I and a liaison to all the Kamp Kompanions. Without this core of friends, our Kamps couldn't run as seamless as they do.

Maryville College is the perfect east coast location for our award winning Kamp series. They provide us with classrooms, concert halls, great food and plenty of it, security and gorgeous scenery from the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We are only a short 10-minute ride from the Knoxville Airport and just about 20 minutes south of Knoxville, TN.

On behalf of the performers and all of us at The Acoustic Kamp, thank you for selecting this CD set. We are sure you are going to enjoy it many times over. This CD represents over 36 hours of concerts trimmed down to a mere two hours of incredible music. You cannot possibly believe the music that didn't make it to this project. Maybe someday there will be a compilation CD of the songs that didn't make it to this project. Until then, enjoy this CD set and we hope you will be in our audience live. The concerts, open to the public, are held each night of the Kamp and are amazing to see and hear.
