Steve,

When practicing fiddle tunes with a metronome I set the device to soft beats only and strike the note on the beat. On the Kamp page you talk about slow jams not to exceed 100 bpm. Am I correct in my belief that to play a fiddle tune at that speed, the metronome would be set to 200 to play 8th notes, note to click? That seems fast for a slow jam or am I missing something?

Hi Bob

I usually play double time to the metronomes because they can't go fast enough for me so this has always been awkward and I had to think of the tempo. When you set it at 114 I play 228 which is standard square dance speed.

So in this case set your metronome at 50 and play double time and you will feel the 100BPM tempo.

See you at Kamp!
